A correction concerning Village Neighbors
The recent Council on Aging newsletter mailed to some New Salem residents indicated that Village Neighbors charges a fee. Village Neighbors no longer charges a fee. All you have to do if you want to be a member is call 413-345-6894, email generalinfo@villageneighbors.org, or visit their website at www.villageneighbors.org and arrange an interview.  Also the newsletter said that Village Neighbors has a list of paid service providers. Village Neighbors does not have such a list, but will be happy to connect you with a volunteer who could help you find someone to do the work you need.  Village Neighbors is a volunteer-run non-profit organization. They provide free simple services, transportation, classes, and activities to their members.
