Town Treasurer

The Town Treasurer works to provide the highest level of service and support to various constituencies (i.e., taxpayers, employees, retirees, or vendors), as well as satisfy the legal requirements set forth in the Massachusetts General Laws and the town's by-laws. The Treasurer accounts for and invests all available cash (excluding the Retirement System), disburses all town funds via accounts payable and payroll processes, administers the towns trust funds, and also handles the towns borrowing needs including working with bond rating entities and sees to the disbursing of all town debt payments. The Treasurer works closely with the Town Accountant and the Tax Collector on many joint fronts and as such is one of the principal financial officers of the town.
