The Rabbit Run is a 5k and 10k race on a route through New Salem, run annually as a fundraising event. This year, the May 25 Rabbit Run will raise funds for two programs through Swift River School:  Nature’s Classroom and Backpack Buddies. Nature’s Classroom is a hands-on, multi-day field trip that provides students with opportunities in the outdoors to explore science and nature and to use their skills for creativity and innovation.  Backpack Buddies is a supplemental meal program for students and families who are experiencing food insecurity. To register for the event, go to https://www.runreg.com/rabbit-run. The Rabbit Run is named after the train that ran through the Swift River Valley before the Quabbin Reservoir was built.
